You will know the timing of the song, you will also know the length of the note, plus the dynamics of the notes, (how hard the guitar strings are being struck with the guitar pick, how loud and soft the notes are, etc), and also, any notes on the guitar song tablature that you can't figure out, when you listen to the song while you are reading guitar tab, and play what you are reading, you will probably be able to get that part of the song down quicker.
