Learn Notes On Guitar

To learn notes on guitar is not that difficult at all, and once you learn the notes of the guitar, it could certainly help later on down the road when you are learning guitar chords, or guitar chord progressions, or guitar scales, or locating root notes, plus all of the other really useful skills that you could acquire if you learn the notes of the guitar.

Throughout this online video guitar lessons website, the guitar instruction that you will receive is only limited to your own imagination. Acquire however many guitar skills that you can, and then morph all of the knowledge and skills into your own exclusive style. Then not only will you be able to learn notes on guitar but you will also have your own unique way of playing the guitar.

As long as you know the first 7 letters of the alphabet, and can remember which notes have sharps (#), or flats (b), then you can learn notes on guitar.

Enharmonic equivalents are two notes that are the exact same note, with a different name. For instance, A# is the same exact note as Bb. Any note that has a sharp, the enharmonic equivalent would be the next letter in the alphabet but flat (besides G#, which since there is no "H" note, it goes back to A, and since any note that has a sharp goes to the next letter but flat, G# is the same note as Ab). Once you remember what notes have sharps and flats, to learn notes on guitar will be as easy as 3.14159265

Here are the notes starting with Ab, and as you can see, after G#, it just repeats the same pattern with Ab and that is the pattern that goes for every string on the guitar, for instance, if you pick the low E string (the thickest string that is closest to the ceiling), then the very next note in line is F because "E" doesn't have a sharp.

If you can just remember this sequence below, then you can very well easily

Ab - A - A# - Bb - B - C - C# - Db - D - D# - Eb - E - F - F# - Gb - G - G# - Ab

Here are the notes that are enharmonic equivalents and are the same note.

(A# Bb) - (C# Db) - (D# Eb) - (F# Gb) (G# Ab)

When you look at the learn notes on guitar picture, imagine that you are looking in a mirror, and you are seeing a mirror image of the guitar (assuming that you are a righty guitarist).
