Guitar amps come in many different varieties, and chances are, if you have invested in an electric guitar, you are going to want a guitar amp. Even if you have an acoustic guitar, they have acoustic guitar pickups that make it possible to plug your acoustic into a guitar amplifier.

There are different kinds of guitar amps, like hybrid amps, tube amps, solid state, digital, etc. So which guitar amp is right for you? Some of the factors in choosing a guitar amp could be: What kind of guitar sound you are looking for, how loud you want to guitar amp to be, your budget, etc.

Some of the guitar amps mentioned have certain advantages over the other types of guitar amplifiers. Tube amps were the first amps on the market. A lot of guitarists will say that tube amps have a much fuller and natural tone that the new digital amps have not yet been able to emulate.

Tube guitar amps can actually sound louder than some of the latetest digital amplifiers, and solid state amps, even at the same wattage. One of the problems with a tube guitar amp is that the tubes are glass tubes, a can break, which would then need to be replaced.

When it comes to solid state guitar amps, instead of tubes, solid state amplifiers use transistors, this factor can make your guitar all distorted and noisy. A plus factor with solid state amps, is that they can be much more durable than tube guitar amps.
