If you are a beginner, and you are going to buy a new or used guitar, there are many beginner guitars online to choose from, but sometimes a beginner guitar under $100.00 can go out of tune very easily, which can make you frustrated if you are doing everything right, but it seems that every sound that comes out of your guitar amp sounds horrible. If you are really serious about learning how to play the guitar, instead of getting a beginner guitar, you may want to invest in a better guitar, like in the $300 - $800 range, but you may want to choose your guitar to buy depending on what style of guitar you want to emulate the most. If you play heavy metal, you might want a guitar with active pickups like EMG'S, or if you think you might want to play acoustic guitar music, then an acoustic (not too over or under priced) could work for a beginner guitar.
