Bass
The bass guitar (among many other musical instruments), comes in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, as well as different types or kinds, but also different brands.
There is an unfathomable amount of different ways to play the bass guitar, but it is commonly played by using the fingers to pluck the bass strings. Other ways of playing the bass is by slapping the strings with the thumb, tapping the strings, or by using a pick, (although some bass players frown upon the use of a pick on a bass).
Some of the different types or kinds of bass guitars are: electric bass guitar which has many similarities to an electric guitar, although it has a longer neck, and the body is much larger. One of the most common electric bass guitars used today has 4 strings, but there are also 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and even 15 string bass guitars.
and double bass (aka upright bass, or contrabass) which is the biggest instrument that has the lowest pitch for a bowed stringed instrument.
Then there are acoustic bass guitars, fretless bass, headless bass guitars, etc. The bass guitar helps to keep the rhythm of a song most of the time following the drums.
